Privacy, plainly.

Your badge stays on your phone

Your name, optional role, introduction, chosen designs and optional link are stored in the app’s local storage. Nametag has no account or server that receives your badge details. We do not include advertising, tracking, analytics or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. We do not collect badge text, photos, contacts, location, camera or microphone data.

Children’s details are optional

You never need to enter a child’s name. Everything on a displayed badge can be seen by people around you. Please choose details you are comfortable showing. Nametag is an adult utility, not a children’s social service.

Motion and QR codes

Lanyard mode uses motion information on the device to orient the badge. It is not saved or transmitted. Pocket mode is selected manually; the camera is never used. QR codes are generated on-device from the optional link you enter and contain only that link. Sharing a badge image or link happens only when you choose the system share action and its destination.

Purchases

Apple handles payment and the Apple Account associated with it. Nametag checks verified StoreKit transactions on your device to unlock purchased features. We do not receive payment-card information or send purchase receipts to a developer server. Apple’s services operate under Apple’s privacy policy.

Storage, backups and deletion

You can delete individual badges from My badges. Deleting the app removes its on-device storage. Your iOS backup settings may separately include app data; manage those backups through Apple’s settings. Purchases can be restored using your Apple Account.

Support and external pages

If you email support, your email address and the message you choose to send are used to respond. Avoid sending children’s information. Ask us to delete a support message when it is no longer needed. This website is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may process technical request information under its privacy statement. Opening external links or sharing to another service is subject to that service’s policy.
